Welcome to my last blog post of this semester! Today, we will explore AI use in language classes through our lesson plan with my friends Alperen and Abdurrahman. AI technology, similar to human information processing, enhances language learning by personalizing lessons, providing chatbot practice, providing rapid feedback on grammar and structure, and creating interactive games.
Our topic was "2125: Exploring the future". We wanted our students to imagine their ideal world in the year of 2125 and create images with prompts. Additionally, students will use future tense verbs for writing their paragraphs. Our work includes activities such as mind map, paragraph-writing and peer evaluation. We wanted our students to use an AI-based image generator application called Leonardo AI. We gave instructions on how to use the application accordingly. Also, we prepared our worksheets with Canva.
In the future, many teachers might utilize AI to assess progress and get insights, allowing them to focus on individual support while AI handles regular duties, resulting in faster and even more personalized learning.
