Hello again everyone! In this post, I will write down my process for preparing an informational infographic. First of all, let me explain to you what an infographic is: An infographic is a graphic depiction of data that is intended to provide a quick understanding of the information. It is used for simplifying loads of complex data, conveying a message and representing the links and relations that are found in the data. I have especially wanted to choose the topic of "Netiquette" for my infographic because it is crucial for us, the internet users, to comprehend its importance and value for better and more effective utilizations of the internet.
In the writing and preparation process, I have encountered a couple of small technical and design problems like arranging the templates and creating a link because the program that I used doesn't allow me to do that, yet I have managed to overcome them with a little research and struggle. I have used "Venngage" for creating the infographic and it was quite helpful and diverse in terms of variety.
As a tool for using in the language classrooms, I believe that infographics are beneficial with regards to many aspects: Firstly, they are easy to understand and create, it is advantageous for both students and teachers. Then, complicated and elaborative topics can be explained in an informative and instructive way for the students by using infographics which can enhance the students' motivations. Lastly, they are highly useful in emphasizing some important social, environmental and ethical concerns such as netiquette. In conclusion, infographics are a great way to show the important points and must-known aspects in a topic for students.
