Sam and Emma: Hidden Treasure (A digital story) 🪙

     


    Hey there! I hope you are doing well. In this post, I will be speaking of digital story and our own experience with my friend Alperen while creating a fictional story. While preparing the picture for our digital video, we used Pixton, it is a quite beneficial and educatory application for creating novel products and it has many different features to use so as to enrich the content of the work. Also in the process of gathering the pictures, we used Capcut to make the pictures a video and to add a relevant background music for our video for enhancing the impact of the story. 

    In the last task, we made a podcast so we were familiar to writing a script and vocalizing it with a narrative sequence. On the other hand, this time, we actually visualised our text with appropriate order. Our digital story's name is "Sam and Emma: Hidden Treasure" therefore it is a treasure hunt adventure which takes place in a coastal town, between two children named Sam and Emma. They meet in the pier and discover that both of them fond of oceans and exploring new stuff, for this reason they decide to set out on a journey to unearth a hidden treasure. While working on the story, we added required elements such as the setting, the sequence of events, conflict, climax and resolution. 

    I can say that the most challenging part of this task was to arrange the sequencing properly. Because, in addition to voicing the characters, we vocalized the narrative text which tells the order of events and sometimes, this required us to change our voice or intonation. 

    In my future practices, I can make use of digital teaching techniques because not only students' technological skills will improve but also their imaginative and creative abilities can be enhanced. However, essential tools, applications and instructions should be fulfilled by teachers so that students won't be confused or fall behind in the classroom.
