Hey there! In this blogpost of mine, I will share my podcast preparation experiences. First of all, I suppose this is the project I struggle most because it requires a totally different skill which is sound recording. In addition to this, my voice should be synchronized with the sound effects and my pronunciation must be clear and coherent with the story itself. Because of that, the process involves a thorough preliminary which includes countless rerecords of my story-telling until I come up with the most satisfied version, however it was very fun and informative.
Our story is a murder story which takes place at a birthday party. Our protagonist is a man named Nolan and our antagonist is the clown. We don't want to spoil the whole story yet I believe you understand the story's course of events. As it can be understood from the title of the blogpost, our hero, Nolan, saves his neighbours' lives from a spooky creature who disguises himself in a familiar face by being brave enough to "call for help". Me and my friend Alperen choose to create a sound-rich story because we think that it is an efficient way to use our imagination together. We used Freesound for the sound effects, and Podcastle for the editing of our podcast. From the given words from our teacher, we use "murder, neighbour, hospital, laughter, clown, birthday party and candle" with our own words.
In the future, I can definitely give a project work about podcasts. Podcasts are extraordinary ways to learn about new topics or express our knowledge about known topics, but without necessary skills and tools, it could be too compelling for some students. On the other hand, students can both use their creativity accordingly and improve their pronunciation and writing skill by having fun and collaboratively working.
